Walden’s philosophy is to provide all children with a sense of security and individuality by offering a safe, educational environment where they can grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, creatively and socially. For children to have a sense of belonging, the daycare will offer an environment that is inclusive, regardless of race, gender, culture, socioeconomic status, religion or exceptional needs.

The experiences young children have in their first six years of life directly affect their physical, cognitive, social and emotional well-being. This is a critical time for children to build trusting relationships with adults and to gain confidence in themselves. The child-care practitioners will foster this by building positive relationships with these children, and providing a nurturing environment, which is consistent, child-centered, and teacher supported through an emergent curriculum.

Our Program:

• Child care and education for children 12 months - 5 years

• Kin-Dir Education Foundation© In-house Kindergarten program

• Integration of FLIGHT: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework in our Curriculum to support our educators in the implementation of developmentally appropriate activities for children

• Full whole-foods nutritious meal service (morning snack, lunch, & afternoon snack), and alternatives provided to meet diverse dietary needs

• Community-oriented, and committed to inclusive practice and a celebration of diversity amongst our children, families, and educators

• Post-secondary educated, certified early childhood educators with thorough background checks and CPR/First Aid certified
